UMARIX IMAGE TOOLS

๐Ÿ—œ๏ธ Image Compressor

Compress up to 10 images at once. Choose a quality preset or a custom quality, compare the original and compressed versions, and see the actual output size and percentage reduction measured from the real output file.

Runs entirely in your browser. No upload, no account, no image stored anywhere.

๐Ÿ“ Drop up to 10 images here, or choose files

JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF. Max 20.00 MB per file, 100 megapixels. Up to 10 files. Files are processed in your browser only โ€” nothing is uploaded.

Choose images

Lossy vs lossless, honestly: JPEG and WebP at quality below 100 are lossy โ€” they discard some detail for a much smaller file. PNG output here is a browser re-encode, not a lossless optimiser, so it may not shrink an already-optimised PNG. If you choose JPEG output for a transparent PNG, transparency is replaced by white โ€” pick PNG or WebP to keep it.

How to use it

  1. Drop up to 10 images (20 MB each, 100 megapixels maximum).
  2. Pick a preset or move the quality slider. JPEG and WebP use lossy compression; PNG output from this tool is lossy in the browser because Canvas re-encodes it โ€” see the note below.
  3. Press Compress, then check the real output size and percentage saved for each image.
  4. Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP file.

Supported formats and limitations

  • Compression re-encodes the image, so some quality loss is possible at low quality settings โ€” compare the previews before downloading.
  • PNG files are not losslessly optimised by this browser tool; PNG output may be larger than the original if the source was already well optimised.
  • Animation is not preserved: only the first frame of an animated GIF or WebP is processed.
  • Transparency is preserved for PNG and WebP output, never for JPEG output.
  • Limits: 20 MB per file, 100 megapixels, batch maximum 10 files where batch is offered.

Frequently asked questions

Is the percentage reduction real?

Yes. It is calculated from the actual size of the compressed file produced in your browser, not from an estimate.

What is the difference between lossy and lossless compression?

Lossy compression (JPEG, WebP at quality below 100) discards some image detail to reach a much smaller file. Lossless compression keeps every pixel exactly, but usually saves less. This browser tool uses lossy encoding for JPEG and WebP; it does not claim lossless PNG optimisation.

Will my images be uploaded?

No. All processing runs in your browser with the Canvas API. No image leaves your device.
